In 2008, I transitioned to the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, and in 2009 into my administrative role as the Chief of Service for the Kaiser on the Job/Occupational Medicine Department. In 2001, I joined the Kaiser Permanente’s West Los Angeles Medical Center. After medical school in the East Coast, I traveled to the Bay Area of California to do my residency in internal medicine/primary care, followed by a fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at UC San Francisco. In addition to a earning a great education, this taught me the importance of hard work, persistence, and the importance of cultural sensitivity and compassion as a physician. Because of my love of travel and adventure, I decided to go to medical school. I grew up playing baseball and as a Dodger fan!
